Objectives

Our project aimed to increase intercultural understanding levels of 60 young participants from CZ, HU, RO, SK, and PT by encouraging intercultural exchange and artistic expression through filmmaking. The project took place in Orlicke Zahori, Czech Republic between 21-30.3.2023, and involved 60 young participants and 11 group leaders (3 for CZ and 2 for HU, RO, SK, and PT). The objectives of our project were successfully achieved. We increased the intercultural understanding of 60 young participants from different countries by providing them with the opportunity to engage in an intercultural exchange of different perspectives. Through exploring filmmaking, we also developed their artistic expression competencies, and increased their levels of critical thinking and sense of initiative. Our project was aligned with the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Commission, as well as European Policies on the youth field. Our project promoted diversity, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue, common values of freedom, tolerance, and respect of human rights, while enhancing media literacy, critical thinking, and sense of initiative of young people. We also increased the participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts and to actively participate in society, while developing a sense of European citizenship and identity. Our project also contributed to improving the level of key competences and skills of young people, promoting participation in democratic life in Europe, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, and solidarity, particularly through increased learning mobility opportunities for young people. It also increased the awareness of the European project and the EU values, enhanced intercultural awareness, fostered a more active participation in society, increased sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, and improved foreign language competences. In summary, our project successfully achieved its objectives of increasing intercultural understanding, developing artistic expression competencies, and increasing levels of critical thinking in the participants and their communities.
