Objectives

As known, the games are for having fun, even learning while having fun. However, the games target the young people and children for they are vulnerable and easily guided. We have decided to conduct our project with a eight partner structure. Because we did not want the children to be faced with this kind of negative situation and our goal is to raise awareness in cooperation with the young people even if we can’t completely prevent this situation. Our project focused on negative effects of computer games on children. There was a number of useful information for our participants and children in our activity table. Computer games threaten children. In order to look closer to this issue; Computer games have negative effects on children's physical health. Sitting in front of the computer and playing video games for hours can raise the risk of obesity, sleep disorders, headaches, dry eyes, carpal tunnel syndrome (wrist disorder), muscle disorders and skeletal irregularities. Increase in pulsation and high blood pressure may be counted as its other effects on health. Various studies have proven that there is a relationship between violent computer games and aggressive behavior. Game addiction, which involves lots of shooting and killing actions, are triggering anger and aggressive behavior in children. The morality of children who play computer games and win is also increasing. According to an online survey conducted by the University of Calgary on children between the ages of 9 and 15 who play violent computer games, these games tend to increase bullying, cursing, and beating between peers or siblings. It has been also observed that children who spend most of their time playing video games and skipping their classes have poor academic performances, skipping or even dropping their school. Because of all the reasons which are mentioned above, we wanted to educate the young people who will be the parents of our future in our project and to raise awareness in society on this issue. In order to reach this this big aim, we also defined objectives to be reached through the activities and structure of our project, which are as following: -To help to develop the positive behaviors in children, -To inform the young people about the dangers and damage of computer games, -To ensure understanding the importance of learning methods, -To provide an opportunity for young people with limited opportunities, -To ensure the possibility of elimination of prejudices and fusion of different cultures. -To reach the voice of our project to large masses, -To draw attention to the concept of volunteering with our social responsibility project, -To spread the consciousness conducting studies for children to come through their growing periods healthfully, -To develop common studies with families about the virtual environment, -To create awareness against the negative impacts of the blue whale game and similar games to the lives of children, -To increase familiarity with social responsibility projects directed to the young generations, -Providing equality of opportunity by including young people which are financially limited, -To destroy the prejudices and wrong information about other nations and cultures -To disseminate the Erasmus Plus Programm. In addition to all these, our project focused to develop the sense of belonging to the society and to increase the sense of belonging in our participants, to meet and help people from many different parts of the society and to contribute to the development of their social skills by bringing them together on a common ground.
