Objectives

The project ‘Together for a sustainable future’ had the following objectives: 1. To give young people from different countries and backgrounds an opportunity to learn together on the SDGs. 2. To raise awareness and to encourage them with the opportunity to develop their own ideas and projects on the problems they face in their local society and afterwards to carry out their knowledge to their peers and their personal local environment. More specifically, ‘Together for a sustainable future’ objectives were: 1. The project pursued the goals of growing the participant’s knowledge of the SDGs and raising awareness on sustainability, while developing their personal skills and competences through Design Thinking method. 2. In the end, also gaining the knowledge of designing own projects. 3. In accordance with the European Agenda, the project also focussed on raising awareness of a European identity among the youth and to strengthen the Citizenship of young people and their sense of belonging to the EU. Crucial therefore was to develop a dialogue about different areas which are of primary importance for the EU: Sustainability; Environment; Civic Education. Plan was to achieve the objectives through following sub-goals: - to raise understanding among participants and participating organizations about the SDGs and its key elements - to support sharing good practices all around the globe and raise interest to apply new knowledge in practice and develop own projects and solutions on local problems related to the SDGs - to encourage the participants to share lessons learned during the YE with their peers and to empower them to look for innovative solutions of ecological problems in their communities and countries - to impart the participants with theoretical knowledge on the DTM and to empower them to apply it independently - to promote tolerance and understanding through creating an intercultural dialogue - to support the participants development on the personal level
