We and the whole society has run blindly forward for decades (or so it feels). More! Larger! Faster! The Covid-19 situation has forced us to stop and think about what is actually important. We initiate the project “History for the Future” so we, the NGOs and the societies, can make more use of the lessons from the past when being part of shaping the future. We will address the last 75 years, so since 1945, as this is the period of very quick development from the WWII until the Covid-19 pandemic. We will focus on challenges that comes from regarding polarisation, xenophobia and racism, and how we can learn from previous situations to better unite our local societies and Europe. We are aware of that we won´t change the big trends alone, but we can anyway contribute to strengthening cooperation and enhancing open minded thinking. Objectives 1. To dig into the common northern European history of the last 75 years and pick essential lessons that are useful for shaping a more united society. 2. To share our findings in form of a huge timeline with locals in Copenhagen, discuss the content with them and let them contribute to the timeline. 3. To conclude the learning process and based on this make plans how we ourselves want to act in our everyday life and suggest actions for our NGOs and societies.
