This youth exchange aimed to equip future young leaders with the necessary tools and skills to improve the Youth Exchange programme’s quality, starting with self-development. We offered group leaders who already gained different experiences in the previous YEs to create appropriate models aimed at involving youngsters to initiate work and be proactive in their communities by themselves. This objective was planned to be fulfilled by taking the youth leaders back to their first steps and facilitating their self-development with innovative tools (mindfulness). Often, these group leaders tend to implement repetitive methods, impacting each YE’s quality and progress. Each YE program was, in essence, very different from one and other approaches were necessary. Hence, the organisations need to improve the individuality of these methods and assist in improving each other. This exchange set the notions of improving YE quality by stimulating young leaders’ spirit of initiative, creativity, and entrepreneurship. These young people experienced strategies for motivating youngsters and, with a mindful approach, came up with individualistic ways and methods that can be implemented in future activities. Organisers and group leaders would like to provide more significant support for various forms of learning to participate and promote good cooperation in the youth field in Europe. Thus, we saw this exchange’s high value and need, especially for future group leaders from our five countries. The project had a clear and compelling impact on the partner organisations which were involved in the project. With its participating network of organisations, this programme aimed to develop the skills and knowledge of participants from different countries and cultures, open their minds and discuss issues that affect their daily lives. The Erasmus+ program has excellent opportunities for young individuals across Europe, which facilitates the inclusion of a vast array of youth organisations that participate in international projects, mainly YEs. The YE primarily acts as a medium of subjecting young participants to a world of cultural inclusion by promoting education and learning based on involvement and activities. Hence, these YE programs must ensure high-quality execution and present the appropriate values and aims. The potential to witness these planned changes will take shape after the project; the leaders were able to ensure the application of proper motivation, inclusion and creative techniques on a local and international level. The project sought to facilitate further cooperation and relationships between participating organisations and their networks. To summarise, this exchange program had the following objectives: • To improve the quality of future YE in the frame of Erasmus+ by providing a medium for YE leaders to develop competencies, focusing on mindful motivation and learning support • To promote an active approach to building motivation-centric models; • To raise the importance YE programs have on personal and professional development in young people's lives and their careers • To facilitate reflection on personal motivation to be a leader and self-development through mindfulness methods • To build up creativity and communication skills, support inter-cultural exchange, and foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries, which helps to increase the quality of YE • To introduce the idea of mindful leadership, boost self-confidence and create awareness of thoughts, speeches and actions The program proposed to enable young people to be better group leaders and facilitators in activities based on non-formal educational methods.
