Objectives

"Social inclusion through football for young people with fewer opportunities" is a six-month Youth Exchange of Erasmus+ Youth. Current application is a follow up of a successful Training Course implemented in Easter 2019 when partners decided to reapply during R3/2020. It was approved with 95% and due to coronavirus, it was not possible to be implemented with all the participants and during UEFA 2020. The beneficiary organisation is Youthorama NGO, active in Erasmus+ from Municipality of Pilea- Hortiatis. The venue of the mobility is hosted in Budapest, Hungary (22-28/6/2021) during UEFA EURO2020ne. The partner is LASS Hungary. Our objective is to bring more youngsters with fewer opportunities in Erasmus+ field. An eight-day program is commonly agreed designed by the consortium, and it will reach a peak at the open event. The main topic will be about Inclusion through football followed by inclusive sports activities, open to everyone. A "making waves" event will focus on Dissemination and Exploitation of Results Strategy while all workshops/ tools/ mobility will be accessible to all. A diverse background of the Consortium is an enrichment for future steps, gender balance and a mixture of both blind/ visually impaired and sighted youngsters. The presence of assistants and inclusive tools of non-formal education has been commonly decided, as well as a monthly plan prior to and after the main mobility 22-28/6/2021 in Budapest, Hungary. The language in use is English and all participants will be insured prior to the main mobility. Breaking stereotypes and bringing together youngsters with visual impairment from Hungary and young people from the Muniicipality of Pilea-Hortiatis is a challenge. What is evident, is how many things we have in common and how many difficulties the youngsters have been facing recently; such as the financial crisis, the long-term youth unemployment plus, the refugee crisis, the unaccompanied minors and youngsters who are struggling over the last years to find a safe place to live. Our vision is to overcome barriers between our two countries and achieve specific youth goals during the current youth exchange, second mobility of a larger plan, for a greater impact in future. The objectives of the current mobility are: To provide time and space for our youngsters to discuss, actively listen to each other, to understand their different cultural background, and respect each other's diversity. Melting the intercultural iceberg of each participant and feel tolerant to their personal expression. Identify common youth challenges, refugee youth crisis/ financial difficulties, heading for solidarity. Putting human rights first as a common ground for building bridges. The practice of sport is itself a human right and it is football in our case, that has a unique unifying power to attract and inspire. Organising together as one team, open to public events for disseminating our youth exchange results. The decision has been taken by our youngsters of the two partners, Youthorama and LASS as an outcome of our two recent joined events. We found so many things in common and we would like to invest time and efforts to bring together the maximum of young people with visual impairment from Hungary and young local people of Municipality Pilea Hortiatis of Thessaloniki. Our youngsters want to live in an open-minded society, opposing actively to Hate Speech. Empathy will be also in the spotlight to understand daily difficulties of young people with visual impairment. Exchanging good practices from both countries is a need to make our youth societies more inclusive. Parallel to all, our youngsters focus on Inclusion through sports and football over the last two years. A snowball effect of creating a unique innovative mini blind football for all youngsters, affected our youngsters to design and implement inclusive projects. This is the only application for a youth exchange in KA1/R3/2020, taking into consideration that we run monthly open youth meetings but we are very selective in applying according to youngsters' needs as expressed.
