Unemployment affects young people from a variety of backgrounds, at different times of their lives and in various circumstances. Youth Unemployment is a social problem that everybody may face. Young people struggle everywhere in Europe to find a job, to make a career and to have the life that they deserve. The current situation is a challenge for youngsters as they are not prepared to face the requirements of the job market, and the job market looks unwilling to adapt to the new generation. The especially alarming situation is with the young people who completed the formal education and remain unemployed and without the possibility of continuing formal or non-formal education (NEET young people). Surveys indicate a far more difficult situation for young people without working experience to find employment and especially for young people with long-term unemployment status. This long-term status eventually leads to decreasing of self-confidence and motivation, which leads to even less possibility of finding work. Therefore, it is essential to help them find a way to solve this. Technologies are continually going forward. Participating organisations wanted to create a space for sharing competences and tools, validated by youth working in different countries. The purpose is to increase the abilities of the involved youngsters to improve soft skills and usage of digital competences. In the modern workplace, they have high value, but in the future, they will be vital. Therefore, the project's objectives are: • To understand better the labour market and causes of unemployment; • To map the participant's existing competencies; • To acquire new knowledge and skills in the field of job searching and selection; • To develop soft and digital skills and learn how to continue improving them after the exchange; • To promote non-formal education and Erasmus+ Programme as a support tool for learning; • To raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to participate in social activities and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity. With this project, we are tackling common problems that we have identified in our countries, but on the European level also (high rates of youth unemployment, maladaptation of formal education to the demands of the labour market and lack of activities to address these issues).
