Objectives

This Youth Exchange gathered young people who are sensitive on issues of stigmatization as a result of addiction/ abuse/ diversity within their communities and wish to act as Ambassadors of Equity within their society. The young participants, through the days and the activities of the Exchange, presented examples of stigmatization and brainstormed on different counter-actions that they or their environment can develop to help those young people to either come out on their identity, talk about it or make their communities more prone to both accept them or/and provide a helping hand for a more open society. Through their engagement to the project, the participants exchanged experiences, knowledge and practices of how a community can be tolerant and supportive as well as developed activities targeted to youngsters/ students in order to create a solid, supportive approach towards stigmatized young people. The ultimate goal of the project was to gather young people and support them to work on ideas that can help local communities to mitigate discriminatory behaviors and other young people to be open-minded and tolerant to diversity. The aim of the implemented activities was on the one hand to challenge the participants on developing their skills and knowledge and on the other hand to work on their behaviors and attitudes as active members of their community, raise the necessity for active citizenship in general and active participation within the society while highlighting the importance of building communities under the values of inclusion, tolerance, equity and anti-discrimination, values that comply with the pillars, the core values of the EU and thus the Erasmus+ Programme.
