Objectives

This year it will be 72 years since the publication of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Human rights are the fundamental pillar on which society is based, however these have been undermined, even today, by the dictatorship and the suppression of discordant opinions, indisputably linked to the cause of the current refugee situation. Music, culture and art are powerful tools that have proven effective against radicalization. Both the 2015 Paris Declaration and the latest EU Youth Strategy share the idea of youth participation and intercultural dialogue, and on which this project is based. The rationale for this project is to invite young participants from Western, Eastern and non-European Europeans to become mediators of change, through a week-long workshop to jointly ensure a better Europe in the future. Due to the international collaboration project between Eastern and Western Europe, the "Art 4 Human Rights" project will be artistically linked to human rights through the interpretation of three articles of the Declaration by young people from participating countries and refugees. of human rights. Goals: -Reach avenues of integration and social inclusion through the arts as an interpretive tool to integrate young people with fewer opportunities in society. - Promote a broader sense of expression of critical thinking, media literacy and sense of initiative through the creative interpretation of 3 selected articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. -Create a solid foundation for participants to become links of innovation and collaborative exchange at the end of a week-long workshop held in Spain. -Foster active citizenship at the international level by establishing a professional and personal network in the form of lasting interpersonal networks for future use before, during and after the workshops. Difficulties and needs of the young participants that are addressed in the project: • Empowering young people with fewer opportunities: it is important that the young generation in Europe know and become involved in facing the challenges of the refugee situation today, so that they can face it in the future. By helping young refugees with fewer opportunities to gain independence and stability in society through collaboration with other young people from the countries participating in the program (Russia, Moldova, Spain, Italy, France and Turkey) it is intended to promote greater awareness and responsibility shared among young people. The objective is the reflection on our common values through rights, as an interpretive framework. -Language barriers and isolation: Cultural differences, isolation and lack of common language skills mean that many young refugees have fewer opportunities to create new relationships. By inserting the arts as an alternative common language, we promote creative and expressive skills to overcome language barriers and create a network between young people from the program countries and local and international refugees in Spain, 3 per country from each of the partner countries. -Prevention of exclusion: We will work against exclusion through the positive and idea-generating experience of co-creation across cultural differences through the disciplines of performative and meditative art. In this way we will confront the feeling of being different which in its most extreme form can lead to ideas of radicalization, through a shared and creative common ground. Links to the objectives of the Erasmus + program: -Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities: In the weekly workshop, refugees are brought together with the young people of the program to guarantee an intercultural encounter and create transnational network connections. -Prevent violent radicalization of young people: the project encourages young people to put their artistic and analytical skills to the test in unison through the creation of transnational friendships and shared values, with human rights as a creative framework. Through non-formal teamwork of young people to other young people, they will creatively represent the three specific articles on human rights: No. 1: All humans are free and equal, No. 13: Freedom of movement and No. 19: Freedom of opinion and expression. Combined with group discussions and daily reflection, artistic and analytical skills will be promoted, using human rights as a framework to foster understanding among young people around the world.
