This project has sought to create spaces for reflection and the design of educational strategies that help to counteract attitudes and hate speech that are currently on the rise in Europe. In this sense, the current moment in which the European Union is experiencing is full of uncertainties and social and economic instabilities that sometimes cause movements and attitudes to be generated on the European continent that attack and put at risk the fundamental values of the EU. Beyond the political union and the single market, the EU is also a question of values. The Treaty of Lisbon includes respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality and human rights as fundamental values of the EU and establishes that the Union's aim is to promote peace and the well-being of its peoples. The entities that have launched this training course believe that the European Union is the great success of coexistence and peace between countries. We must think that before the creation of the EU the European continent was characterized by constant conflicts and wars between countries and ethnic groups. Fortunately, and thanks to the “miracle” called the European Union, the current generation of our grandparents, parents and children, in general terms, have not had to experience a war conflict first-hand and have been able to live together in peace and democracy. On these two principles of peace and democracy, it is from where we have launched this learning experience to reflect on the situation of human and social rights in Europe and the risks that currently attack our coexistence and our society. Given that non-European and extreme movements are currently emerging in Europe that attack social cohesion and human rights, we have generated spaces for reflection and the creation of common strategies among all the partners and participants who participated in the project to promote cohesion protection, human and social rights and prevent situations of exclusion, racism, xenophobia, radicalism and hatred. In addition, we have been aware that the social and economic impact of the current health crisis of COVID19 and the consequences of the war in Ukraine and the conflict with Russia is generating a major social and economic crisis that must be counteracted from social cohesion. European Union based on social rights and peace. That is why we have launched this project that has contributed to strengthening the basis of the European coexistence project even more so in these times of uncertainty and social and economic crisis. With the LIVING TOGETHER, BREAKING HATE training course, from the Auryn Association we have tried to provide workers in the field of youth and youth leaders with tools that allow them to act against discrimination, radicalism and hatred from the non-formal education and taking the Pyramid of Hate as a starting point. To do this, we have focused on creating common strategies to promote social cohesion and the reinforcement of Human Rights and prevent situations of exclusion, racism and xenophobia. The Pyramid of Hate has allowed us to visualize the "discriminatory process" clearly, by showing how some socially accepted behaviors are the basis that allows the existence of discrimination and violence. The objectives of this LIVING TOGETHER, BREAKING HATE project have been: - Identify the main risks that exist at a social level in the EU and that attack the rights and freedoms of its citizens. - Use the Pyramid of Hate as a basis for the analysis of the radicalization processes that exist today. - Analyze different historical processes in which the normalization of racism and discrimination has been crucial. - Generate strategies so that workers in the field of youth can develop actions to promote respect for human rights in their daily activities, creating a Pyramid of "counter-actions" that counteract populist and radicalization movements. - Establish a European network based on respect for and promotion of human rights, highlighting the positive value of intercultural education. - Promote the exchange of good practices in the fight against hate and discrimination. - Promote the opportunities offered by the Eramsus + Program and the CES.
