Objectives

SCOUTING in FOREST, is a proposal of Youth Exchange between young people from 16 to 20, which takes place in the town of Cueva de Ágreda, between 06 and 17 July 2023, whose thematic axes are the Environment and Scouting or Scouting. We consider that these themes are in themselves the natural answer to some of the problems that currently affect the world and specifically Europe: -- Environmental protection on the one hand, which lately left aside due to the economic crisis in which the Western world is immersed, should regain the predominant place it deserves through citizen pressure and awareness. It is not necessary to make references to news about the subject, since everything that surrounds us is affected by this problem directly or indirectly, and it grows exponentially every year, so we have to address the issue at all possible levels including these opportunities that Europe offers us. -- The promotion of the values promoted by Scouting on the other hand: interculturalism, respect, solidarity, service to others, altruism, volunteering... and again the protection of the environment, which we understand are the only ones that allow this troubled world in crisis of values not to fall into the fierce individualism and the "every man for himself". Scouting is a worldwide movement that does not need a letter of introduction (Scouting is the most widespread youth movement not linked to religion at a global level). According to the World Organization of the Scout Movement we are more than 40 million with the goal of leaving the world a little better than we found it). A curious aspect of working with scouting as the main theme, is that when it comes to indicate in this form the themes of the project, it has been very difficult to pigeonhole it in 3 themes, given that the citizens that the Erasmus+ program aims and the youth that scouting tries to form share most of its values and objectives. The objectives of the project are set at the following levels: 1) Knowledge and awareness: knowing the ways of real influence on the community, and the value and consequences of everyday actions on the environment. 2) Dissemination/awareness: To contribute to the development of awareness of other young people through the dissemination of promotional material in our associative environment and in that of the participants. 3) Training in values (https://issuu.com/scout_es/docs/valoreslight): Scouting has been training young people since 1907 and is a method that has evolved with society and continues to be one of the bases of non-formal education. 4) Sharing the daily life of a scout camp: The exchange will take place on the same dates, and in a camping area attached to the camp of the Matterhorn Scout Group (www.gruposcout217.net) who with more than 400 members and several awards granted by the Autonomous Community of Madrid has been training boys for almost 60 years. Therefore, part of the activities will consist of getting to know their daily life and sharing the activities that their monitors develop in different units divided by age ranges, which will enrich the participants as individuals, and their future associative activities by learning techniques, workshops, and dynamics of non-formal scout education.
