Objectives

TESEA is an organization that works with diverse populations to bridge the gap between France and Senegal through initiatives that affect the daily lives of its members. We work on several areas and themes that are all accessible to our members. This project carried by 5 other partner organizations allows us to question our way of eating. "Healthy Food, Healthy Integrated Europe" is a youth exchange project on healthy food, correct and active lifestyle, local products and integration through food experiences. European cuisine is very diverse, and the history of Europe is reflected in the history of all the traditional dishes found on the continent. Food is a perfect way to learn more about our common origins as European people, and this project aimed to identify similarities and differences in food cultures. Together with our partner organizations, we will increase opportunities to grow their own food and reduce dependence on global food players. Each country has its own traditional food, and these traditions need to be preserved, both for pride, identity and brands of the nation, but also for tourism. The specific objectives of these projects were to - to raise awareness, through non-formal education, of balanced diets and the risks of obesity - to encourage healthy eating - by improving skills and knowledge of food preparation and cooking methods - inform participants about the principles of the Slow Food movement - discuss the importance of food as a fundamental element of social integration - facilitate the exchange of information between participants on their different food cultures - to raise awareness of the importance of consuming local products and zero-mileage food - share best practices on how to integrate different social groups through food - promote, through non-formal education, an active lifestyle - discover the variety and similarities of traditional European dishes - to encourage active citizenship, create lasting bonds and express creativity. We worked on this youth exchange project from 06 to 14 December 2021 and a preparatory phase of two days.
