Objectives

We would like to organize an exchange of young Europeans, in Evron, Mayenne department, France, from 09 to 20 July 2020, to respond to the request of young people (members or close to our association "la P'tite compagnie") to develop activities focused on : - the desire to meet other young people, - the will to discover another culture, - and well to practice theater and improvisation activities. The group will be made up of 8 young Spanish and 8 young French people aged between 13 and 17 years old, and will be accommodated in tents, at the campsite of Evron, a small rural town of 8000 inhabitants. This campsite is located close to the infrastructures essential to the organization of this project: - a performance and rehearsal hall, - a vast room to bring us together, - a sports complex to organize games, - large green spaces, - a home for young workers in the restaurant industry. The idea of the project is to prepare, organize and create a real improvisation match at the end of the stay. This highlight, prepared by and with the young people, will be the pretext for the daily programming of role-playing games, theater and improvisation workshops. These theater and improvisation workshops and role-playing games will be our support to allow the young people to : - To develop skills and abilities specific to theater such as : * overcome their shyness and develop self-esteem and self-confidence * channel their energy, feelings, excitement or rage * explore their imagination and creativity * develop the sense of listening and team spirit But also - Raise awareness of the notion of interculturality among young people We will first address references and basic concepts to describe cultural difference (food, flag, national anthems, music, ...) and will propose in a second time workshops on broader topics (work rhythms at school, high school, education, non-verbal language, ...). By proposing these situations of games and targeted improvisation, we wish to more broadly - Fight against stereotypes, clichés, - Encourage the desired meeting between young people, - Speak about Europe and raise awareness of Europe among young people. To further develop these objectives, we will propose: - role-playing games (Bon appétit, lemon game) to allow young people to experience situations of intercultural encounter, - language unlocking games to facilitate exchanges, - time to do nothing to freely exchange by organizing one's own activities, - an animation with the Maison de l'Europe of Laval, - the visit of some remarkable sites, but always keeping in mind the purpose of our project.
