The partnership consisting of youth organisations from Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania and France proposes a youth project to address the issues related to alcohol-related harm (ARH) among youth through the use of non-competitive sports and games. This project will also aim at using a peer-to-peer approach to raise awareness about ARH and to gain the active participation of youth in recognising and dealing with ARH and its consequences. Young people should be better empowered to address and prevent ARH and to have input on the social pressure advertisers and alcohol companies exert. In this way they can effect change in their communities. Objectives of the project are to: - Promote sports volunteering and non-competitive games as a way to acquire skills, increase understanding of ARH and its consequences, develop effective ways to reduce ARH and improve the community at the same time. - Raise awareness of the personal and societal issues associated with ARH particularly as it applies to youth from deprived backgrounds. These issues include linking reduction of ARH to increased employment, reduction in poverty, better health, safer communities. - Equip youth with increased key competences/skills to help them better address project issues in their communities, build a sense of belonging to their communities and increase their ability to devise effective solutions in addressing their problems. - Develop skills and competences aimed at reducing ARH, promoting active citizenship, community involvement, increasing work related skills and decreasing marginalisation, social exclusion, and poverty. - Increase innovative thinking in addressing problems. - Develop life-long skills and healthy behaviours. - Increase intercultural and social tolerance. - Show youth how to find and use resources to obtain information and training. - Support project dissemination/sustainment. - Use the project as a springboard for networking between participants. - Make participants aware of the Erasmus+ programme and its potential.
