The countries participating in this project are the countries having issues with gender discrimination. Judging from the EIGE statistics, most of the participating countries have it worse than the rest of the European Union. In aspects of money and time, Bulgaria has scores rank last in the EU. Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria remain much lower than the EU’s score in the same period. Their slower rate of improvement has led to an increasing gap with the EU over time. Italy however was called as an example because their society showed the biggest improvement in this regard since 2005. This has an impact on the personal lives of our participants as well, Aside from solely focusing on the situation and discrimination of women, the participants decide it to use it as a starting point to talk about related problems present in their society like learning about abuse and sexual health which most of theme believe is missing or deeply lacking in formal education. On the project itself, they will be able to present their video directing, writing, recording and editing skills, because they are going to learn, write and make a short film on the topic. They will address the issue of gender discrimination and related misconduct – the key issue of the exchange is the treatment of women in modern society and the image the media places on them, however we will not stop here. The participant decided to take this topic and discussing these issues, they want to discuss discrimination and stereotypes the other vulnerable groups face in relation top the issue the women face in society. They will learn about the treatment of women, as well as other target groups in the media, learn how not to let it model their behavior and vision of other people around them. They decided to discuss the portrayal of women and other vulnerable groups in the entertainment media, especially now when it’s more relevant then ever. They will learn about sexual health – the issue of consent, and violence in relationships. Young people are often lacking information on this topic because it is not very well addressed through institutions. In some societies talking freely about these issues is frowned upon and viewed as promiscuous behavior. The participants suggesting the topics agreed they want to create a safe space where every participant can learned about the mentioned topics without feeling ashamed to ask these important things. We want to address multiple needs of young people -give them an opportunity to expand their horizons in intercultural learning – we want our participants to meet other young people from different countries so they become less susceptible to stereotypes and prejudice. -Educate young people about the position of women in the European society and give them a vocabulary to express their concern for the topic. By learning, they will also become more invested in the project problematic -Give young people knowledge of how to combat negative occurrences like stereotypes and discrimination. -Educate young people of responsible behavior towards their romantic partners and teach them about sexual education topics – the participants expressed concern over these topics, particularly because they don’t believe they are well addressed in their formal education. -giving young people an opportunity to acquire and use digital skills in a social context. Most of young people never had the opportunity to use their art and computer skills to convey a strong social message, creating this film will certainly become another valuable life experience for them. Through participating in this project, they will raise the level of self-esteem and self-worth.
