The young people who will take part in this exchange never travel and have never participated in the exchanges. We often see that they have prejudices towards others which “creates” their experiences and, in the long run, their lives. We notice that young people do not have enough self-confidence, there have very few opportunities, and are not encouraged by parents, they do not see the positive sides of their rural area, and yet everyone participates in their folk groups, preserves the culture, spends a lot of time nature, some have very interesting skills and some follow virtually “modern” topics like environmental issues and reactions of young people around the world like Greta Thunberg, which they often comment with us. Precisely because of the latter, we wanted to give them the opportunity to do what they are best at, present it to others, learn from others so that we can help them raise their conference and self-esteem. We tried to focus on one area but we simply kept coming back constantly to the culture and customs but also to the environmental issues and in the end we simply connected these two topics in a very organic way through the designed 7R concept. All activities are planned so that young people get acquainted with the culture and customs of other countries on the basis of which they will primarily connect. Then, then will continue by themselves to transfer various knowledge and skills. For example, some of our young people know wood carving, making clay objects, to sing, enjoy telling legends and stories of their region, embroidery. We will upgrade these skills with knowledge about environmental protection and they will become aware of their personal role in this complex process, and how they can improve it, introducing them to the 7R concept, which they already apply to some extent by using the aforementioned skills. The aim of this project is to enable young people from rural areas of four countries to get to know other cultures, present their own and jointly raise awareness of their role in their community and new possible ways of influencing their interest (environmental protection, resources), using a creative 7R concept that was invented by Kreaktiva and the partners . We want to raise the participants' awareness about their own negative impact on the environment, our inseparability from nature and the need to change the pattern of behavior in order to increase the quality of life that will be sustainable in the future. By nurturing our culture and customs, learning about others and about different cultures, we will create generations in those places who will understand the importance of working together to improve their own lives and the lives of their communities. By implementing this exchange, we want to encourage acceptance of different cultures and customs, as well as multicultural cooperation, greater tolerance toward others and those who are different, given that Europe is changing rapidly in this segment. Specific objectives (Why do we want to include the 7R concept?) - Give participants a sense of self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worth that comes through valuing their own work, but also tradition and heritage stored in objects that will be restored (a piece of folk costume, old embroidered pillow, knitted bag), and have new shine (Repair!) - Through creative expression and giving old items a new shine, we reduce the waste we produce and accumulate in our homes and closets (Reduce!) - Enabling an individual to learn a new skill, express themselves creatively and use it in the future (Restore!), - Acquiring positive habits and thinking about the choices we make every day when it comes to caring for the environment (Rethink!), - Increase awareness of the reusability of items we use on a daily basis or the conversion of items into new ones with new use-value (Reuse!) - Positive orientation towards recycling objects and encouraging small steps to be taken by participants and possibly all family members (Recycle!) - Active reflection on future actions in the community and individual responsibility of each of the fellow citizens in order to develop a sense of "ownership" and "community" (Regain!) In addition, we will enrich the local cultural life of our community by allowing everyone to participate in activities, talk to foreigners, and later learn from their young people about new skills and how to conserve their resources and environment. Learning together and understanding the necessary ways of thinking about environmental sustainability, such as the 7R concept, allows us to move in the desired direction when it comes to sustainability and reducing personal environmental impact, which is the focus of the EU.
