Objectives

The development of mindfulness is very important for a healthy life in today's stressful world, where so many inducement hit us every moment. Many people focus on the past or the future and let the present moment slip away. During the development of awareness, the goal to be achieved is to live the given moments with sufficient attention, thus we can examine our feelings by consciously experiencing the moments. Mindfulness has a stress-relieving effect, and the person who intentionally concentrates on the given moment usually experiences their effects more optimistically. Mindfulness is generally unknown to today's young people, even though they are already under a lot of stress at school. The education system generally does not pay enough attention to the mental health of young people. According to WHO data, a quarter of the population suffers from depression and anxiety. Most countries spend significant resources on treatment instead of prevention. mindfulness and related methods are suitable for preserving mental health. We have established that there is a need for youth workers who can demonstrate the concept and benefits of mindfulness through their own example, as well as the good methods and techniques needed to achieve this. The aim of the partners participating in the project was therefore that the participating youth workers recognize the usefulness of consciously experiencing the present, learn about non-formal and innovative methods of achieving mindfulness, which they can later apply during their work with young people. We considered the concept of mental health, knowledge of methods suitable for its preservation, knowledge of methods suitable for reducing stress and anxiety to be an important goal to achive the main aim. Increasing their proficiency in outdoor activities useful for achieving mindfulness was also one of our goals. By passing on the methods of achieving mindfulness to others, the youth workers will help achieve general mental health and reduce anxiety and stress. In the course of the project, we also set the goal of compiling a manual, which contains the good practices and methods that help to achieve the state of mindfulness, thus providing a great help to youth workers. We also set the goal of increasing the capacity of the project partners. The project met the requirements of Erasmus + mobility, and also facilitated the creation of new partnerships.
