Objectives

The Maieutika project stems from the need to reflect and confront each other on the issue of peace and pacifist practice, not intended from a purely ideological but a practical point of view, that is, a philosophy for everyday life. The concept of peace does not end in the war or in taking one position rather than another. It is a project that involves 42 young people from Italy, Spain, Poland, Austria, Romania and Turkey and intends to promote maieutic practice among the younger generations in order to prevent conflicts and build values of peace and dialogue. In 1971, Danilo Dolci, nicknamed the "Italian Gandhi", wrote: "To those who object that so far in history no structural changes have been possible with nonviolent methods, that there have been no nonviolent revolutions, it is necessary to respond with new experiments for which it is evident that what has not yet fully existed can exist. We need to promote a new story. " Maieutika therefore arises as an experimentation of the unfinished existence, that is, of what can be achieved by placing young people as protagonists of a nonviolent revolution of social behavior, verbal and digital languages and practices of civil and solidarity coexistence. All associations involved in Maieutika have great experience in managing international projects and groups. As we are all partners with whom we have already worked in the past, we have experienced together the need for adequate preparation and clear communication starting from the preliminary stages. The partners will have to deal with the preparation process immediately as they will have to proceed with the identification of the group leader and subsequently an agreement will be drawn up and signed for the distribution of the budget and roles. The selection of participants must take place within three months from the approval of the project to begin the preparatory phase and to better inform the participants that they will receive an infopack with all the useful information. Each partner will be required to sign an agreement with the individual participants and the hosting organization by reporting a contact in case of emergency. Participants will be involved in peer education, role-playing, team building and problem solving activities led by a young psychologist and a youth worker made available by our association for carrying out the activities. They will learn to share contents and to rework them in a creative way using open source graphics programs (such as Canvas) for the realization of the illustrated Manifesto of young pacifists, which will constitute a project output product to be distributed and told in schools during the dissemination phase.
