The project was planned to address the direct needs of partner organisations to improve their capacities and partnerships on the international level, as well as the learning needs of their youth workers and staff. The project also prioritized the need to raise awareness and do something concrete about the environmental issues that affect our communities and our planet nowadays. Youth organisations and youth workers can significantly help in this regard as they work directly with and for young people, which is the generation that will be mostly impacted by the negative consequences of climate change and the environmental hazards it brings. To address the above-stated issues and needs, the project had the following long-term aims: 1) Create an informal network between 11 youth organisations and sustainable partnerships between them for exchange of competences, information, tools and good practices that serve as a starting ground for developing new joint projects and activities for environmental education and sustainable development 2) Increase the quality of the youth sector on the local and international level to address environmental issues, by providing organisations and youth workers with youth work resources and non-formal learning methodologies. To achieve these aims, the project directly addressed the following objectives: - to give the opportunity to youth workers and organisations to meet, get to know each other and present their profiles, work, activities and backgrounds - to increase the motivation and capacities of organisations and youth worker to cooperate and design good quality projects that tackle environmental and ecological issues - to provide youth workers with new and improved knowledge, skills, attitudes (competences) and tools to work with environmental and sustainable development education of young people on the local and international level - to develop new joint project proposals on topics connected with environmental education and sustainable development that will benefit communities and target groups of partner organisations, while at the same time presenting opportunities of Erasmus+ programme in these fields - to raise awareness of the youth sector and the general public about environmental issues and their negative effects on society
