The "T.R.I.P. - Il fiume è la strada" project was ideated and designed upon 4 conceptual pillars: 1) The desire to feel part of a process of collective and community growth, made even stronger by the reality of the pandemics and of the economic, social and cultural restrictions in which the project was developed and implemented, driven by the need to "stay human" while trying to remain firm to the ground and cohesive, with deep intertwining roots; 2) The global awareness of the importance of green economy, based on the idea of sustainable development that allows people to meet their needs without compromising the future of new generations: with our project, the social drama of the environmental issue was approached and staged through a methodological kaleidoscope that combined theatre, social entrepreneurship, anthropology and cultural and territorial animation, with the aim of strengthening community ties and developing territorial identities; 3) The possibility of creating job opportunities based on the skills acquired, the territory of reference and the traditions as an achievable goal, a shared belief that has driven and motivated us at Immaginaria and the organizations involved in this partnership; 4) The phenomena of depopulation and abandonment of inner areas, whether rural or urban peripheries, in a negative demographic trend that unites Italy with many European countries in a scenario of isolation and desolation, which has as its consequences both the slow disappearance of many forms of traditional knowledge, but also of trust and cooperation among people, as well as the abandonment of the homeland especially by well-educated people with a cultural background that has grown over the decades and who dream of a job commensurate with the course of study they have done and the needs necessary for a peaceful life. We started from these 4 key-points to envision a training course for a "grassroots green economy", with internationally shared approaches and strategies on research and training in environmental and community management, which focused on awareness of the human-nature relationship, knowledge and development of traditions and of the tangible and intangible culture in the local area, and social entrepreneurship. The themes of the project were Creativity and Culture – Social entrepreneurship and Social Innovation - Development of internal and marginal areas. In a nutshell, our objectives were: 1 to design and foster a European "green strategy" based on the pairing of NGOs and local heritage; 2 to contribute to inclusive and sustainable development dynamics, both in small rural realities and in urban peripheral areas; 3 to strengthen the relation between art and territory; 4 to enhance the skills of the individuals within their communities, and of the community as a whole; 5 to focus on tradition, understood as a complex of tangible and intangible knowledge, while reinterpreting it in a future perspective; 6 to increase European processes of exchange of best practices; 7 to enhance the visibility and dissemination of Erasmus+ youth projects and of the results achieved with them; 8 to inform participants about further possibilities around them, both locally and in the European sphere.
