Objectives

This project came as an effective response to the problems and shortcomings of hard to reach young people and youth workers working with emerged particularly within the global coronavirus crisis. In fact the pandemic has affected both youth workers and young people in an intense way and has exposed the fact that many of them (especially young people between 18 and 25 years old, and especially the disadvantaged), were vulnerable and unprepared to face the unforeseen, the adversities and the difficulties of life. These statements were confirmed by specific situations observed during the pandemic and the reported by our partners organizations, like increased mental health problem among young people (anxiety, emotional coping difficulties, lack of selfconfidence, depression, etc.); professional and financial difficulties; job loss, etc. In the communities of our partners and in the organization of their networks youth workers found themselves in a situation where they ware not able and unprepared to support the young people they work with and the reorientation towards the online environment, as a means of professional retraining has happened slowly and many youth organizations have not found effective solutions to adapt to the situation. Taking into account also long term effects this would have brought we wanted to be proactive in order to face these situations and to prepare young people (especially the disadvantaged and hard to reach), youth workers and their organizations to become more prepared to being able to cope with any situation and to prosper. In this context resilience was aimed to be the core competence that can enhance proactive and positive attitudes, behaviour and pro-social behaviours. Thus the project aimed at increasing the professionalism and the level or youth work quality of 27 youth workers specifically effectively support young people in developing resilience and adapt successfully to challenges and to become active citizens that contribute to the development of hard to reach youth. Project’s specific objectives were: 1_ to increase the level of knowledge and comprehension of the concept of resilience of 27 youth workers so that they can understand the importance of incorporating it in the activities with young people; 2_to enhance the skills of youth workers in applying resilience practices in their work with youth and hard to reach youth 3_To cultivate the motivation of youth workers to use resilience with youth and hard to reach you in order to empower them 4_to create a network of youth workers and organizations who work together on the development of more resilient young people in their communities and share the same vision on the topic.
