The youth exchange “We are all equal“ is a Youth exchange that consisted of 2 activities: The first step of the Youth Exchange took place in Georgia (5 days + 2 travel days) from 21-27 of May 2022 in Kobuleti. The second stage, took a place in Lithuania (5 days +2 travel days) from the 21-27 of September 2022 in Druskininkai, Lithuania. The project aimed to promote pluralism, tolerance, respect, and mutual understanding by giving them space where they experienced cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity in one united environment. They were introduced to the following topics: democracy values and mutual understanding; respecting differences, breaking stereotypes, and creating a network; participants worked in an international team and they were able to learn more about new habits of diverse cultures and music, which expressed traditions and roots of a particular region, but also contemporary trends. The project aimed to raise awareness among young people about cultural differences, they were able to see the significant differences and common values between Europe and Non-Europe Countries. While spending time in a new environment they learned more about new daily life habits and traditions: family life, birthdays, weddings, mother’s day, independent day, new year, etc. As the participants were speaking diverse languages it was an essential part of the project to let the participants improve their linguistic skills: The participants used their native language in certain activities, for better self-expression and to break inter-cultural stereotypes. Additionally, participants were encouraged to respect diversity and use the common language while speaking with internationals. The goals of “We Are All Equal” were the following: 1.
