1st Activity= (APV: Exploring How to Use Escape Rooms and Board Games as Educational Tools for 21st Century Human Rights Problems) The leaders of each partner country had the opportunity during the APV to get informed of the main aim and the objectives of the 2 YEs for the timetable of all the activities as well as for the organizational matters of the upcoming activities so that the youngsters-participants could be well-prepared for it. 2nd Activity= (Youth Exchange1-“21st Century Human Rights Problems-101”) With our project, we aimed not only to eliminate prejudices about Islamophobia and Islam but also, we aimed to eliminate prejudices about Judaism and Anti-Semitism. We also sought to find out similarities between different ethnicities and religions. While demonstrating the beauty of Islam to our participants through our activities, we aimed to find commonalities with other religions such as Judaism and Christianity, reveal inter-religious similarities, and contribute to interreligious dialogue because we had the idea that people of different religions could see commonalities between other religions and their religions and this facilitated the eradication of prejudices in their minds. Benefits were -To work on a common topic with the group to speak in front of an audience, to have effective listening and creative thinking skills. -To give participants a chance to develop their creative thinking skills. -To gain positive behaviors that will stay with them throughout their lives on humanitarian issues such as mutual tolerance, empathy, marginalization and xenophobia. -To gain knowledge and experience on the prejudices towards Muslim and Jewish individuals and to break own prejudices towards them, if they had any. -To create magazines for personal or different purposes. -To learn more about intercultural dialogue and gain awareness about tolerance towards differences. -To gain knowledge about concepts such as participation in democratic life, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity, Islamophobia and Anti-Semitism. -To be able to apply for a project and benefit from more E+ opportunities. 3rd Activity= (Youth Exchange2-"21st Century Human Rights Problems-102”) A considerable part of the news about immigrants and refugees recently was composed of Syrian refugees who had to flee from the war in their country. Despite all the efforts our countries put forward, the war atmosphere and the terror organizations in Syria made the country unlivable. We put forward new ideas and found solutions by discussing this up-to-date issue in an atmosphere composed of people from different countries, cultures and points of view. To understand the problems and the difficulties that the refugees experience in their daily lives, we were using the method of empathy. In this matter, we agreed with our partners to include immigrants and refugees from Syria and/or other countries in our project as participants. Through our activities, our participants created a new point of view on immigration and they built empathy towards people who did not have any other choice but to migrate. We expected our participants to put significant efforts into the solution of the problems which the immigrants and/or refugees in their country had. We shared our final products and solution offers through social media to raise awareness. We also created 3 easy board games even if we did not get funds for Activity-4, a training course to develop detailed board games about the human rights issues we were discussing.
