This project is a reaction to the needs we identify within our community and the communities of our partners. Beekeeping is a trendy activity which is rising on its popularity, however not enough. Young people are trying to live more sustainable, ecological and are visibly more prone to seek the impact of their behaviour. Beekeeping within this community is an activity which is not very spread and definitely deserve more attention. Unfortunately, beekeeping is not an activity you meet with every day nor you want to join since the active community nearby.. young people think. So that we decided to change this little bit and create a possibility for young people who are already beekeepers or our thinking about starting beekeeping. We wanted to raise awareness about the importance of beekeeping, show our participants what are the possibilities for young beekeepers, last but not least focus on beekeeping itself and show them how we do beekeeping in Malta. Via follow-up activities and dissemination, we ensured that the idea of this project will be spread and more and more young beekeepers will find out this activity as an opportunity for them, with an active international community.... such ours.
