Objectives

We believe that the main objective was achieved, namely to create a space where participants can meet, share ideas and discuss about disability, accessibility and human rights and rural areas and learn about tools they can use in order to raise awareness about a better accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that all these objectives were met because only in one project, during pandemic times, there were gathered young people with autism, people in wheelchair, people with mental challenges and people with other fewer opportunities, who worked together on developing key competencies, learned to cooperate and be more independent, they discussed about Social Entrepreneurship and their hobbies that could become a job, they increased their awareness of different cultures, initiated intercultural dialogue, broke common stereotypes and developed skills for working in multicultural teams. Young people needed to work together in order to help and provide to the group, follow activities but also organising parts of the program, they cooked and organised meals for the group(with the help of professional staff), learned about other countries but organised the intercultural evening presenting their traditions, games and dances.. The project exceeded our expectations because the group was quickly created and strong in including everyone, quick to react when someone needed support (people with light mental disabilities often offered help to people with physical challenges) and, keeping in mind that this project was the first international participants for some of the participants(or the first project that involved people with disabilities), they said that the project was an eye opener, that opened the door to a brand new experience that they want to repeat in the future and that they will present and encourage others to get involve.
