Objectives

The aim of the project "Meet the Method" was to deeply dive in non-formal education and enhance competences of less experienced youth workers in the field of non-formal education. By implementing “MTM”, our aim was to strengthen youth workers with a set of skills and competences in non-formal education, to raise their confidence when working with youth and to put a note on the intercultural dimension of NFE. The primary message that we wished to underline is that by empowering youth workers, we are empowering youth in working within the frames of non-formal education as a necessity in encouraging young people in active participation and responsible citizenship. Main objectives of “Meet the Method” were to: - deeply understand non-formal education and life-long learning, its characteristics and purpose in intercultural dimension; - develop the professionalism of youth workers in the field of the non-formal education (further NFE) which leads to civic engagement and responsible citizenship; - promote European cooperation in the field of youth and creating equal opportunities for education through intercultural sharing and exchange of good practices. Specific objectives were to: - enable exchanges of best practice, experiences and expertise while promoting a more democratic and civic society, - provide strengthening of youth worker’s self-confidence in NFE, developing their creativity, and empowering their cognitive, effective and practical skills, - develop facilitation skills needed to deliver quality NFE programs in a manner that encourages participation, ownership and creativity by all those involved.
