Objectives

The project CORE has been born as a thoughtful response to concerns and doubts raised by the unprecedented situation of instability and fear caused by a recent COVID-19 pandemic. Together with other youth organisations, we came to a conclusion that in times of constant changes and uncertainty that await us, it is of utmost importance to build a solid and stable base to rely on. What we believe could serve as such a base are more empathic and solidary communities which draw from the potential of all of its members. An important question is: how to build such communities? Our answer is to start with individuals and invest in youth who is the future and hope of our planet. In order to address the above-mentioned challenges, we designed a project for youth workers and educators which provides them with the necessary knowledge and tools for building awareness, civic attitudes and common responsibility among young people. Our mission is to guide each individual on a path of self-discovery through the integration of one's body, mind & emotions, and reconnection with one's values and needs. With this as a starting point, we will invite everyone to a journey towards deep connection with others which will consist of an exploration of our roles in communities and practical training of essential skills (accountability, adaptability, resilience, decision-making, flexibility) in a context of group process and a high dose of unpredictability. The finishing line will be to take the perspective of the community, feel the power of unity and unlock the creative potential for building engagement, empathy and responsibility in groups of people. All in all, the project is designed as a process of exploration of self that leads to understanding a broader context of our roles in society. We strongly believe that self-aware and emotionally competent people who understand the interrelations between individuals and societies and develop a sense of civic responsibility are the ones who have the power to build communities based on cooperation, empathy and responsibility. The general aim of the project is to raise self-awareness as a tool for creating a more empathetic and responsible society. Objectives of the project: - Understanding the core correlation between individuals and society - Integrating body, mind and emotions - Providing tools for personal growth: self-care and emotional well-being - Improving essential skills (accountability, adaptability, resilience, decision-making, flexibility) in a context of change and unpredictability - Increasing creativity and social responsibility of individuals - Sharing and developing tools for community engagement.
