The very idea of the project came from meetings with OHP participants on the topic of climate, because the young people were not satisfied with the classes held on this topic at school, they simply thought they were boring. The young people received information from their colleagues, OHP graduates, that such classes carried out as part of projects are "cool." There was also a meeting with participants of youth projects already implemented in 2018 and 2019, so it went on. We assumed that the youth would learn about the issue of threats to the earth, learn about bad examples of behavior towards nature, what the consequences of such attitudes are, and learn about good examples of living in harmony with nature and practical ways to do good for the environment. The beginnings were difficult, but the youth like our methods and activities. We work with difficult youth, our appeals not to waste water do not reach the youth, often water in the premises just pours continuously. Problems of waste, segregation of garbage, the problem of dumping waste into rivers, destruction of vegetation, are unfamiliar topics unknown to young people. Learning about these issues in school doesn't work, so we thought that peer education was a good idea to reach young people with this project. We intended to teach young people how to act in a group, additionally in culturally different groups, we wanted to teach them tolerance towards others. We assumed that the participants would learn about the importance of nature in everyday life, the crises of environmental destruction, learn about many examples related to the impact of people on the environment, which the participants themselves would develop. The goal was also to convince these devfavored youth to live in accordance with nature, with a positive attitude towards the environment and, importantly, with a change in attitude towards nature and the environment. We expected the participants to change their behavior, to be sensitive to devastation, to change and to popularize new knowledge in their surroundings.
