Objectives

The project was rooted in an idea that formal and traditional ways of teaching and learning are not providing young people with the competences required by society’s development, and it is crucial to provide them with different approaches to learning, also using different setups and environments. The project was designed as a welcoming and creative space to share, experiment and further develop tools, methods and techniques related to outdoor and nature education in youth work practice. Main objectives of the project were: - to popularize outdoor and nature activities and education among youth workers and NGOs; - to stimulate empowerment and engagement of participants through outdoor and nature activities; - to encourage the use of outdoor methods with young people in partnr organisations’ practices; - to come up with relevant solutions to involve young Europeans into outdoor education activities; - to provide youth workers with non-formal learning tools and methods to use outdoor and nature activities for active citizenship and social inclusion; - to develop outdoor activities to implement in partners’ local communities. The project contributed to the specific objectives of the KA1 (supporting the professional development of those who work in education, training and youth, with a view to innovate and improve both the quality of teaching, training and youth work across Europe, and their involvement as considerate and active citizens in society, as well as the enhancing cooperation between organisations in the youth field and increasing the capacities and international dimension of organisations).
