The aim of the project was to create a common space within the work of 6 international groups of young people who worked on creating "non-verbal" opposition and increasing awareness and changing attitudes of peers regarding the topics of intolerance, discrimination, racism, failure to respect fundamental rights and obligations and intercultural dialogue. The main tool they used was shadow theater, which served as an opportunity to "physically" demonstrate the importance of the above themes, the importance of social involvement / creating active pro-civic attitudes from adolescence, and building common, transnational, European values of social inclusion. By creating a performance, creating props, acting, international theater work, and shadow theater, the young people could discover new experiences, experience new emotions, personality states, motives of conduct or, and perhaps most of all, exchange views on topics important and important to them concerning their systems. values, view and vision of the world. The aim of the project was not only to satisfy the passions and interests of the participants, but above all to create a common opportunity to express themselves through artistic means, with particular emphasis on shadow theater on various topics. Additionally, through the implementation of the project, young people wanted to draw attention to the huge problem of disrespect, peer discrimination and stereotypes. When we saw these problems, we also saw problems in our environment. People forget about their cultural identity and history, they become aggressive towards changes that are taking place (recent parliamentary elections, division of citizens, mutual insults of supporters of particular groups). The youth are torn and do not know who to believe. They stand up for their convictions, but they still speak for aggression, intolerance, racism, and xenophobia. Instead of opening up to diversity, young people close in on themselves, becoming a threat to themselves and their surroundings. Therefore, the aim of the project was also to develop a shadow theater performance that was a response to the above-mentioned negative social "stimuli". Through the performance of the performance, based on knowledge and competences, both personal and those developed during peer workshop sessions, conducted by groups from individual countries, the young people were able to create an artistic message, which was an opportunity to increase awareness of the described problems, and secondly, to give a clear signal that working together, as one "European family", we can achieve more, become more tolerant, understand the essence of problems and stereotypes, and not believe all media messages. Additionally, by working and spending time in an international group, young people could understand the importance of the issue of intercultural learning, that we are all alike, despite different language, behavior, traditions and origins. Additionally: Development of the use of English. Breaking down personal barriers and resistance to speaking in a foreign language. - development of teamwork skills. Development of skills and attitudes such as: effective communication, negotiating, listening to each other and respecting own opinions, correct argumentation, being assertive, tolerance, respect for the other person. - joint work and specific goals (including creating a performance) stimulating organizational skills in the participants, leadership / leadership skills. Create attitudes of effective planning and time management. Development of responsibility, getting to know your strengths and weaknesses, reaching an agreement under time pressure; - development of passion and interest in creating a joint performance with the use of shadow theater, development of acting, art, photography / film skills; Expanding knowledge and acquiring new knowledge about foreign cultures, customs, religion and history. Development of tolerance, fight against xenophobia, racism and aggression. Increasing the sensitivity to art, appreciating the cultural achievements of foreign countries and the beauty of their traditions / folklore. Increased motivation to counteract negative phenomena (racism, xenophobia, violence, aggression, intolerance, indifference, etc.) that are common among peers; - confirming oneself in one's passions and interests; - appreciation of the opportunities offered by the European Union.
