Objectives

Youth Exchange "SMART Society" is the result of cooperation between young representatives of 6 European countries. Originators from Poland invited young people from Latvia, Hungary, Romania, Spain and Lithuania to cooperate. The idea itself was developed during a workshop on Social Economy organized at a school attended by a group of young people from Poland. The title of the project alludes to the 'SMART' objectives of the project that were presented during the workshop. The SMART Society project responded to the needs of young people with fewer opportunities, aged 13 to 17, to educate on project implementation and improve leadership skills. The aim of the youth exchange was to encourage young people to act, to provide them with the opportunity to acquire new skills and knowledge, and to strengthen their ability to create and implement projects aimed at addressing and solving problems of the local community. Practical experience in leading change was possible through a balanced combination of theory, practice, individual reflection and dialogue. The project met the objectives of the Erasmus + program regarding the promotion of active citizenship among young people. Project goals: - providing participants with knowledge and skills in the field of implementing youth projects, which allowed them to act as people disseminating the idea of civic activity, - providing participants with the tools to develop leadership skills in order to motivate them to become active citizens (development of specific skills such as e.g. decision making, team building, communication, public speaking etc.); - intercultural education of participants, - supporting young people with fewer opportunities facing geographical and economic problems; - extending the partnership network and exchanging good practice to involve young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, in youth initiatives supported by youth programs or other aid programs; - promotion of the most important European values and the Erasmus + program
