The originators of the activities are young people associated with our Foundation as part of the informal group Initiative Mazurska, who co-created the project "We get to know other cultures through joint action". The young people responsible for the preparation of the project, based on their previous experience in participating and organizing projects under the Erasmus + program, developed a preliminary concept for a new project already last year. Then we decided to jointly conduct a series of meetings of participants - face-to-face and on Skype - as well as a videoconference with partner organizations, which allowed for joint reflection on the transformation of the challenges set into specific goals. Thanks to numerous discussions taking place between us with our partners and group leaders, an in-depth analysis of the needs of the project participants was prepared, which allowed us to adequately prepare its assumptions. The main goals of the project are: - integration of young people brought up in other countries; - getting to know another culture, language, traditions and customs, as well as getting to know your own in order to present them to the representatives of the second group; - increasing the self-confidence of participants by getting to know their strengths; - improving one's skills in communicating in English and breaking language barriers; - learning to work in an international team, jointly undertaking practical challenges; - development of personal competences in the field of communication and self-presentation; - development of social competences and cooperation skills; - increasing competences in the preparation and conducting of international activities, as well as developing the skills of evaluation and summing up project activities; - developing the ability to conduct promotional activities in social media and general sharing of the results of undertaken activities; In our opinion, these goals are a response to the fundamental challenges posed by the Erasmus + program. The project will be an opportunity for young people to meet their peers from other countries participating in the program, establish contacts with them based on joint action and undertake activities developing the potential of international cooperation. Secondly, it will be an opportunity for project participants to develop competences that are an important element of their good start on the labor market, especially in the case of willingness to work in international companies or on foreign markets. Preparation of youth exchanges is part of the activities of our organizations. Our cooperation will allow us to increase our competences as well as the possibilities of deepening international cooperation and creating a platform for cooperation for young people from different countries. We want the types of activities to be conducted in an increasingly professional manner and to increase the scale of our projects by our partner organizations. Thanks to the involvement of our participants at every stage - from the submission of the initiative, through participation in the preparation, implementation of the exchange and dissemination of results, to the evaluation and summary of activities - they will also have the opportunity to learn in practice how to apply good project approach to action and take up international activity . We hope that we will be able to instill in them the need to conduct activities aimed at further development of international partnership under the Erasmus + program and other actions with similar goals. All exchange activities will be conducted using active methods, in line with the principles of informal and non-formal education, including integration activities. Active participation in the preparation and conduct of such classes will be an opportunity for them to learn about their methodology, which may become an inspiration to conduct similar activities in their environment and as part of other youth initiatives. Also, the impact that participation in the exchange will have on the attitudes of young people towards other people will have a significant impact on changing the approach to representatives of other cultures and nationalities in the local environment from which the participants come. Improving language qualifications resulting from participation in the project will constitute an important personal, social and professional resource, allowing for increasing the life mobility of engaged youth in the future, which is, in our opinion, an important element. The knowledge of other cultures should also translate into an increase tolerance towards representatives of other nations and cultures, increasing the ability to cooperate with them, as well as the willingness to undertake international activities, both privately and professionally. We have also prepared this project and its assumptions based on the guidelines we received from the National Agency during previous application competitions.
