The "Brand Yourself" project is based on the following objectives: to demonstrate the advantages of using tourism as a solution to combat unemployment, to provide tools to young Europeans, and to demonstrate, through non-formal education, the advantages of having an entrepreneurial spirit. The primary goal of the project was to inspire the participants with the knowledge acquired throughout the project to later put it to use back in their present and future reality. Each participant had the power and skills to start their own business and make their own creations, using the right tools to do so, learning step by step how to market a product and how to make an idea real. In addition, the project intended to promote active citizenship and take advantage of the multicultural society to develop personal and interpersonal skills in each of the participants. The "Brand Yourself" project took place in Vila Real which is a city with multiple and varied structures and support services for the youth movement. The high unemployment rate in the European youth generation, with numbers according to the European Parliament around 15%, is one of the main concerns in the development of this project. This way, the "Brand Yourself" project emerged in the sense of creating and stimulating goal-oriented youth, propitious elements to reverse the unfavorable trend, which allow the acquisition of adequate and precise competencies and skills to prepare the European youth generation for the labor market, goals in communion with the European development principles such as the Erasmus+ program. With the development of this project it was intended to create a diversified educational project dedicated to young people, which would promote the ideal of mobility programs and present an opportunity to learn, experience and enrich their lives, as well as their skills for the real world. Furthermore, with the development of the programmed activities, it was intended that, in partnership with the project's network of partners and other local institutions, it would be possible to develop the ideas and projects of young people as a form of personal enhancement and as a way for the young generation to respond to the current reality. Thus, in accordance with the project's main objectives, the aim was to provide participants with an enriching experience, on several levels, such as providing leadership skills, encouraging initiative and communication, as well as developing personal, social, and interpersonal skills. It was also intended to highlight the value of cultural enrichment and diversity, and thus promote integration activities and interaction between different cultures. Through this experience, the participants had the opportunity to become more aware of the numerous employment opportunities available, as well as to have a broader vision regarding employability and career prospects. They also developed a spirit of initiative, increased self-esteem, and motivation, elements that are extremely important for professional and personal success. In communion with the program objectives and the priorities of the Erasmus+ National Agency, the "Brand Yourself" project thus promoted: Improve the level of key skills and competencies of young Europeans; Promote improvements in the quality of youth work, including through enhanced cooperation between organizations; Support the development of knowledge and knowledge-based youth policy and recognition of non-formal and informal learning, notably through enhanced cooperation, better use of Union transparency and recognition tools, and dissemination of good practices; To increase the international dimension of youth activities and the role of European youth workers and organizations Develop skills considering personal development and active insertion in the labor market To support the development of support systems for young people by enhancing professional resources in the youth field Promote the recognition of skills obtained; Promote the complementarity of formal and non-formal education, vocational training, employment and entrepreneurship.
