The objectives of our project were to make the people to whom we can show the results of our project and the participants in particular have the consciousness of real democracy. Teaching democracy in detail to the participants, transferring the essence of democracy, instead of its etymology were the main goals for us. The phenomenon of democracy is a word that everybody knows. Nowadays, if we would ask a person what democracy is; we would always have the same answer, which is “The regime that the public is ruling itself.”, and yes, this is the meaning of the word “democracy”. Democracy, which was derived from the Greek words “Demos”(the public) and “Kratos”(the ruling power) is a word beyond the meaning of “the ruling power of the public”, that is the reason why we wanted to create awareness about the content and the power beneath this word. We intended to make people understand how a great power the democracy is, which has been discovered and implemented in the times of Ancient Greek. We wanted to create awareness that societies have forms of political governance for the public and that the public can manage themselves the best. At the same time, we defined the objective to keep the participation of the participants at the highest level by carrying out all these activities with group works aimed at the active participation of young people. In this way, the participants started to recognize the people from different countries and cultures and developed their tolerance towards different cultures, which was our other goal. The simulations that would make the learning permanent by making the participants experience the regimes which include the role playing techniques based on the participation of young people constituted the content of our project. Besides, we organized a Culture Fair activity in which all the participants presented their own cultures to each other. The participants who were able to recognize the other countries and cultures thanks to these activities, started to realize that they should be respectful to different countries and cultures and also that democracy is an irrevocable phenomenon, by having a democratic and amicable project. We also aimed that the participants would have an active training, make their training process permanent as they evaluated themselves with the self-evaluations, reflected their knowledge and experiences to their daily lives and started to consider democracy as an irrevocable phenomenon. In order to fulfill our objectives, we followed some informal training methods by which they could learn from each other, such as the activities they have participated actively, were in the center of the training, role playing and debates. We tried to reach our goals by having the participants have permanent training by these methods which were often used. At the end of our project, the participants have experienced a project in each stage of which they participated actively. They were spending all their time by developing themselves. Furthermore, they made this development happen by participating actively together.
