We want to carry out this project in order to address one of the main challenges that Europe is facing on recent history: the migration crisis and its resulting stereotypes. As migration issues keep growing, migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers are more and more confronted by discrimination and hate speech with the help of the misleading of media as well. There are powerful voices around the world that are determined to denigrate refugees and turn them into objects of fear and loathing. This is very often the result of narratives and sentiments centred on a phobia of the outsider – based on ethnicity and race, religion, income, language and similar signs of “otherness”. This, in and of itself, is divisive and can lead to violence and persecution. The idea of the project is coming from a workshop done by the international volunteers about the ongoing refugee crisis between Greece and Turkey which has exploded since last spring regarding the effects of Covid-19 on the refugees and migrants in Europe as well. After some researches, the participants realised that migrants, refugees and asylum-seeker have to face many difficulties to be included in their society, so they were willing to increase their knowledge and skills for a better inclusion. By implementing this project, we want young people to understand the human rights on the basis of refugees, migrants and asylum seekers and can relate them with different situations such as misleadings of media, discrimination and hate speech. We want them to be able to think critically and improve their arguments against negative stereotypes by combining art and human rights and promote social inclusion. Through this project, we want to promote social inclusion of the disadvantaged groups and 42 young people from 6 different countries and raise their awareness about the migrant crisis and show them different examples in order to foster their critical thinking. Besides, we want to demonstrate that the fear of the other in the public opinion is often conveyed through media and social networks. The objectives of the project are: • To strengthen the knowledge of 42 young people about the current migration crisis around Europe and fundamental principles of human rights during 9 days of youth exchange • To capacitate the 42 young people combating hate speech against migrants, refugees and asylum seekers and promoting equal human rights and inclusion during 9 days of youth exchange • To increase the self-esteem of 42 young people from severely disadvantaged backgrounds using various forms of art as an expression of dialogue such as theatre, creative drama, flashmobs etc during 9days of youth exchange
