Objectives

The Outward Bound Romania organization (from now on OBR) has always strived to improve its programs and working methods by having its own instructors participate in projects and training, both in the country and abroad. These participations help our organization to increase its degree of connectivity in the world of European organizations, establish partnerships with them, create programs of increasingly better quality, and grow and develop from a professional point of view. The project ACTIVATE! was created with the aim of providing youth workers with a space in which to develop their outdoor education skills and in which to exchange methods, experiences, and knowledge from the fields in which they work. This idea was born after the participation of the authors of the project in training for the development of soft and hard skills after they realized the potential of organizing outdoor education training during the winter for youth workers. Usually, outdoor education programs take place in the spring-summer-autumn period and less often in the winter. This happens because youth workers do not have enough knowledge or experience to organize outdoor activities in winter, they are afraid of cold, snow, and the potential problems that may arise. Also, other aspects were taken into account, such as the identified need to participate in more training for youth workers, the increasingly complex and challenging social reality of young people that youth workers face, the SWOT analysis within OBR So this way, the objectives of the training were: - to develop the knowledge, skills, and working methods of youth workers related to the field of outdoor education; - to create an opportunity by sharing different working methods (theoretical and practical) and knowledge from the fields in which they operate with the aim of enriching the work palette of youth workers;
