"OpenUp: Non-formal Education for Inclusion" was a youth workers mobility financed by European Commission through the Erasmus + programme. The project started in March 2021 and it had a duration of 12 months. This Training Course brought together 5 organizations from European Union: SolidDar (Romania), Come Pensiamo (Italy), Promesas (Spain), NGO club of Initiatives Different Angle (Lithuania) and Orenda Foundation (Bulgaria). The main reason we started this project is that we wanted to improve youth workers competences in applying NFE methods in their work. We noticed that many youth workers rarely use NFE, use it wrong or they don’t know how to make them effective. All our 5 partner organizations work with disadvantaged groups of young people and many of our youth workers didn’t know how to adapt their methods to this specific group. The Aim of the project was to: Improve youth workers competence in selecting, adapting and implementing non-formal education methods, as a form of inclusion, for the groups of disadvantaged young people that they work with. The objectives that we had in mind during the duration of the project: 1. By the end of the project, the 25 youth workers will be able to choose, adapt and implement a minimum of 5 non-formal education methods that respond to the needs of the disadvantaged young people that they work with. 2. During the next 6 months, after the Activity in Otopeni, the 5 partner organizations will register an increase of min. 30% in the number of activities that the youth workers propose and implement for disadvantaged groups of young people. 3. By implementing the activities, they learned during the project, the 25 youth workers will be able to promote inclusion and increase the number of young people coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, that they work with, with a minimum of 20 %, until the end of the project. 4. By getting involved in all project activities, the 25 youth workers will develop a more empathetic attitude towards disadvantaged young people will be more confident and motivated to work with disadvantaged groups of young people. We were happy to realize that we achieved our objectives.
