Young people that partners work with are showing very passive behavior towards environmental issues in their communities; they do not participate a lot in activities related to waste management and healthier lifestyles. Partners noticed that young people are very low in their self-confidence about things they know and can do and awareness in general about themselves; that they have a lot of prejudices when they communicate about social and/or environmental issues. A group of young people from the Serbian organization stepped out of this and show an interest to create a project that will give them the opportunity to exchange knowledge and practices with young people coming from different countries, with different backgrounds. Guided by all of this, partners wanted to support and coach young people throughout the process of empowerment and to involve them in all the phases of this project, also to make the local community aware of youth exchange and to be its supporting structure and to impact the local community by youth exchange. The project goal is to empower young people with fewer opportunities to become responsible, critical, and active in environmental issues, and to a healthy lifestyle in the local and European communities. Objectives are: - To empower young people with fewer opportunities from passive behavior to active participation and taking care of an environmental and healthy lifestyle. - To support youth advocacy and activism within youth empowerment as an outcome in which youth, as change actors gain the competencies to impact their own lives and the lives of other young people and the communities as a whole; - To experience multi-culturalism through meeting and working with youngsters coming from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. - To become aware of the European community and to use opportunities of Erasmus + program as a tool for the development of the culture of youth participation in environmental activities.
