Objectives

Our main objective was to use the educational Larp method to work on participants key competences. The participants themselves selected what they wanted to improve in. They also had control over in what way they would go out of their comfort zone. In the invitation to the YE we told the potential participants that we would be focusing on: - developing personal resilience - learning stress management - boosting creativity in overcoming challenges These topics was chosen by previous year participants and by the junior leaders of the national groups. They wanted something related to the situation/emotions they had during the Corona year. Thus we named the project "IMPROVISE, ADAPT, OVERCOME". Our Gimle educational Larp was perfect for this, since we in this story/genre we could create the "out of the comfort zone" situations were the participants could; improvise, adapt and overcome fictional challenges. The experiences from the co created fictional world does "bleed in" to their real lifes. There has been research on this, the so called "batman effect", a bit like "fake it till you make it". In the long term objectives of this reoccurring project (Gimle Educational live action role playing games) we always work with, and achieve good results in: - developing leadership skills and methods of community building - encouraging self-sustainability by introducing into simple living and understanding nature - rising self-awareness This was the 6th time we did did project. We change and improve it every year after input from participants and based on leaders ambitions. This year we really wanted to sharpen our method. A remarkable method/activity, if we may say so. We also wanted to create leaders and make use of the best group of leaders ever. And we wanted to make the most out of our nature and the inspiring venue.. We are using this Edu-Larp activity as a fix point for the whole organization and all the work during the year. Meaning... we use many months to prepare for this event. Building infrastructure, building scenography, training leadership, preparing stories, becoming better at the logistics of big groups e t c. All in all making us qualified for similar tasks in the future. On our secret agenda, as always, to give participants a better connection and liking to nature, what ever the topic is of the activity, since our venue is in nature. In this project we also wanted to develop our network and build on previous collaborations and also some KA2 on similar topics. And further our connections with some local actors on the youth activity scene.
