The main objectives were: - to increase the number of sustainability related youth exchanges in ecovillages as inspiring learning environments for youth; - to enhance quality of partners youth exchanges; - to foster international collaboration between partners. Ecovillages are intentional or traditional communities consciously designed through locally owned, participatory processes to regenerate social and natural environments. The 4 dimensions of sustainability (ecology, economy, social and cultural) are integrated into a holistic approach. Ecovillages are models of sustainable settlements that serve as training & learning centres offering non-formal learning activities plus, most importantly, informal learning through the immersion experience of sharing ecovillage life. The project aimed to increase the quality and the quantity of the non-formal educational activities run by ecovillages for young people, in particular youth exchanges, by allowing the partner organisations and their youth workers to come together, learn from each other with the support of some experienced facilitators and create a set of follow-up projects that would allow ecovillages to inspire more young people in search for alternatives to climate crisis and social exclusion.
