Objectives

With the project Toward a green Tomorrow, we contributed to their understanding of current European and global issues in the field of climate change through socializing and encouraging the active participation of young people. During the project, young people exchanged examples of good practices in the field of preservation, protection and design of natural space and promoted an environmentally friendly lifestyle that is beneficial for nature (clean environment, air, water) as well as for people themselves and their mental health. A friendly lifestyle also includes activities such as yoga, meditation, healthy eating, and connection with nature. These activities are important for overcoming the daily stress that young people are increasingly subjected to. We also raised awareness about various everyday activities that significantly contribute to the preservation of a clean environment (recycling, using a bicycle instead of a car, using ecological instead of plastic bags, ecotourism instead of mass tourism - a cycling/hiking trip to nature instead of traveling by plane, etc.). The Toward a Green Tomorrow project offered young people a huge variety of interesting activities related to the natural environment, its protection and a friendly lifestyle. The project was designed in such a way that, through practical workshops, we encouraged young people to play a more active role in their local communities, and in doing so, the young people realized that no one is too small to make a difference for a brighter and greener tomorrow. The goals of the project were: - Acquainting young people with information on what climate change is, what causes it, what are its consequences, who is most affected, how climate change is related to human rights, who is responsible for preventing climate change, what countries and corporations must do. - Acquainting young people with the Paris Agreement on climate change and the non-governmental organization Amnesty International. - Encouraging young people to adopt an environmentally friendly and active lifestyle. - Presentation of the positive psychological, sociological and physiological impact of nature on humanity. - Encouraging the development of critical thinking skills. - Strengthening of values among young people. - Improving the level of key competences, creativity and skills of young people, including young people with fewer opportunities. - Encouraging and educating young people to a more active role in their local communities, i.e. to an active civic role. - Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. - Strengthening teamwork, intercultural cooperation, promotion of voluntary work. - Improving knowledge of foreign languages, especially English, which was our working language. - Exchange of knowledge and experience. - Increasing the awareness of young people about Erasmus+ projects, encouraging young people towards education and mutual cooperation. - Mobility of young people and improving the level of key competences of all lifelong learning and skills of young people.
