Objectives

In the project, we wanted to connect young people from countries across Europe (Portugal, Greece, Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia) and enable them to have an intercultural exchange in a safe environment in the context of non-formal learning with a special emphasis on topics related to conflicts and peace. Our intention was for the participants to get to know the participating countries as well as different conflicts through the exchange of experiences, and on the other hand, to upgrade their skills of non-violent communication through different approaches. With the help of multicultural dialogue, we hoped to break stereotypes, strengthen mutual understanding and deepen peace. An important goal was that the participants present the discussed topics, which also include the European Union and Erasmus+, to the students of a Slovenian secondary school (Secondary Medical School Murska Sobota in Rakičan) during their visit. Through this, we wanted to increase awareness of unity, conflict management and resolution, intercultural cooperation and peacebuilding. By integrating the participants into Slovenian local environment, we also wanted to further connect them with the community, in order to achieve an even greater acceptance of other cultures, improve knowledge of the project topics in the society, and, in addition, to promote non-formal learning and common European values.
