Objectives

While youth unemployment in Europe is reaching a noticeable growth, inefficient use of technology is becoming an increasingly intractable problem, while young people are entering the work life almost all employees of the institutions to which they apply expect a certain level of IT competence from their candidates. So young people need to be able to efficiently use technology and the necessity of using it has become inevitable. According to Eurostat's data, about 3 million young people under the age of 25 were unemployed in EU countries as of June. The youth unemployment rate of 16.8 percent, recorded in September, reached 17 percent EU-wide. The same proportion increased in Eurozone countries from 16.2 percent to 16.5 percent. All these phenomena when we consider informatics in the young people participating in our project and the people we interact with an awareness were formed so that their arguments can be used efficiently, and a tendency to achieve these competencies has occurred in young people. As TUFAK Youth Club, we have contributed to our world and the goals of the European Union in this regard in order to prevent youth unemployment, even if it is small. We teach our children who are digital natives with digital skills we equip and train them, prepare them for the world of the future from today. In our time, the Computational Thinking Method is used only by computer engineers and it plays an important role in improving the ability of solving the problems we face in everyday life. Every new era there are different problems that it brings with it, and different solution techniques are produced to solve these problems. Therefore, in our era, which we call digital natives, teachers who take on the task of guiding their young people in preparing them for the future should develop new learning techniques. Having IT competencies allows you to solve problems, it can be considered as a whole of studies aimed at critical thinking and understanding the relationship between human and computer interaction. An individual who has IT competencies; Formulate problems in a way that allows solving them using a computer or other tool, logically organize and analyze the data, Model the data or it can display abstractions such as simulations, automate answers using algorithmic thinking, find possible solutions, possible stages and resources most effectively and define, analyze and apply them by combining them efficiently, transfer and generalize this problem solving process to other different problem situations. Our participants, who have realized all these together in our project, can feel themselves taking a step further in their future career planning.
