Objectives

It is important that we take right actions today in order to present more sustainable future for next generations. Taking into consideration that everyone in society has to consume, consumers’ behaviors have a part in increasing or decreasing environmental pollution. Our youth exchange project looks for a more sustainable future because we want to focus on good practices that we can implement in our daily life. To give awareness, protect our planet, our future prosperity of all human beings. Nowadays we consume in a way that our environment can’t handle. Society needs to act against climate change and the growing environmental threats. But our society cannot solve a problem that it is not willing to acknowledge. That is why everyone including young people has to start taking responsibility for their actions, and impact on the life of future generations. Right now, becoming sustainable is not a choice, it is an obligation. For these reasons in our project we talked about what kind of Europe we want to live. In our project, it is planned to raise awareness about sustainable development and to take more environmentally friendly measures for future generations, and it is aimed for each individual to be more sensitive to the environment by changing their own way of life. In addition, in our project, we aim to promote the EU youth strategy is the framework for EU youth policy cooperation for 2019-2027 which is talking about Sustainable Green Europe as one of their aims. As the youth strategy aims, we also aim in our project to empower the entire society especially young people to act as agents of change for environmental and sustainable development. In our project, we do not only want to give awareness about sustainable development but also individually, we can develop simple habits to become more sustainable in our own lives. For instance to learn how to make tie-dye, bird nest & seed boms for bees from upcycle metarials and sewing workshops. In our project it is aimed to start an action, encourage and inspire sustainable working practices in young people’s daily life. Objectives of our project were: - Learn about how to make a sustainable use of plastic, electronic waste, carbon footprint, minimalism and fast fashion industry, organic & seasonal products. (activities on day 4 and 5 are planned for these objective) - Ensure everyone including young people knows the effect of their actions on the environment. (activities on day 3, 4 and 5) - Encourage our participants to more sustainable habits such as promoting local products, choosing second hand, reuse of what we have. - Learn about relevant sustainable development goals, as Rio +20 process, Kyoto agreement, Paris agreement using non-formal education techniques.
