We realized this project in order to develop the sense of empathy in all our participants within the framework of intercultural dialogue by observing the effect of cinema on the shaping of the perspectives of individuals who are interested in the visual arts, especially cinema. Based on the fact that cinema is a reflection of life, our groups representing our participating countries evaluate important events such as epidemic, war, famine and migration that shape their societies, in the light of cinema art, and evaluate the works they produce on the axis of cumulative benefit, and we ensure that common feelings and thoughts are formed in all our participants to a large extent. we think. Our participants from different cultures are able to express themselves by improving their awareness of other cultures, to meet, to socialize, to make an effort to contribute to a culture they do not know, to develop the ability to communicate with people from different social and cultural backgrounds, to acquire different ideas by exchanging opinions and to assimilate these actions. they developed their personal abilities such as contributing to their personal development by overcoming the obstacles they encountered during the realization process. In addition, we provided the promotion of Turkish cinema to foreign countries, and the introduction of Turkish society by giving clues about Turkish culture, literature and social life during this promotion. In this interaction process, as Turkish participants, we got an idea about the way foreign cinema perceives life. Just as a pandemic like Covid-19 had a traumatic effect all over the world, it became the subject of movies based on examples such as the famine in Ireland in 1850, the Crimea in 1921, and the Spanish flu that spread in 1920. We have contributed to the development of empathy feelings of our group by drawing on selected examples from Turkish cinema and the cinemas of our participating countries, which include topics such as socialization problems, healthy access to food and health measures for disabled individuals, and we have tried to create a common consciousness by contemplating the sacrifices that our participants should make for the society they live in. . After ensuring one's own safety in extraordinary events such as war, famine and epidemic that drag the society into chaos, we tried to develop the ability to take initiative and measures within the framework of their own possibilities for the continuation of the society they live in. Because all individuals should take responsibility for the sustainability of social life in times of chaotic environments such as epidemics or war. Each individual is responsible for firstly protecting his own life and health, and secondly, to protect the health of the community and to benefit it. We observed that we ensured the development of this awareness in our participants in the brainstorming activities we held after each movie.
