Our general aim was to exchange knowledge and experiences between 29 young people aged 13- 25, 12 of them facing cultural differences: immigrants or descendants from immigrant families, about the different forms of discrimination, stereotyping, prejudices, racism, xenophobia, islamophobia etc. and discuss the situations in their countries and aimed to find common solutions and methods how to fight against these issues. At the same time with the project, we tend to support internationalisation, social cohesion, equity, democracy and diversity among the participants from 5 different countries and organisations coming from different areas of Europe. With working in pairs, sharing stories from their own lives, and stepping into somebody else’s shoes. With this method, the participants were able to see how stories can evoke strong feelings of empathy and why this occurs. Through theatre and non-formal methods, the participants had a chance to share and play their stories and stories they created as common stories from the elements in their lives. The objectives of the project were: * To Recognize, from personal experience, the different forms of discrimination that 29 young people coming from 5 different countries experience and reproduce in their closest environment, regardless of the origin country where they come from. * To understand how such prejudices can be passed from one generation to the next so that we might intervene * To discuss and find out ways to use non-formal educational methods how to Identify discrimination in whatever the situation and the context in which it is presented, to reflect on the discriminatory acts that are being perpetrated against different groups in vulnerable situations from different sociocultural perspectives. * To learn more about Migration, Immigration and different countries' migration policies * To understand the importance of Empathy * To learn the principles of storytelling * To learn from each other, using Nonformal methods * To promote and discuss the fundamental European values * To promote the Erasmus program, Youthpass, and Non-formal education fostering the mobility of young people in Europe * To Strengthen the cooperation, collaboration and sharing of experiences * To learn more about different cultures and express their own * To Develop different skills and be part of an international team * Multilingualism *To learn more about Turkish culture and visit the historic places around Canakkale( Gallipoli and Canakkale Martyrs Monument) As a project output recorded their stories and measured the impact on the participants in the way how they perceived others, and how they feel differently about empathy, about others, and about themselves. We had a chance to explore how these discoveries might be used in their future life and their plans.
