Early childhood is one of the most critical periods of human life, covering the 0-6 age group. This period lays the foundation for the child's learning experiences, happiness and productivity in his later years. Children take half of the distance they will cover in many developmental areas in early childhood. ( Tunceli and Zembat, 2017). Early interventions, education and activities to be applied in this period have a lasting effect on children's cognitive capacities, personalities and social behaviors (Bredekamp, 2015; UNICEF, 2003). Research emphasizes the importance of supporting children with the right education and methods in this period, which forms the basis of human life. However, due to the changes in the world and the coronavirus for a long time, children could not receive early childhood education. The situation became more complicated especially for low- and middle-income families, where both parents had to work. This situation brought to mind the question of to whom will working parents entrust their children. Even before the coronavirus epidemic, high-paid, low-qualified or inaccessible home caregiver support became a serious need for families after the epidemic. In addition, increasing rates of domestic violence and divorce during the corona virus process have brought with it the single-parent family structure. Parents who had to take care of their children alone formed another group that needed caregivers. Childcare; attention to children, protection, stimulation, nutrition, etc. It includes activities that will enable them to provide integrated services in areas and improve their social, emotional and cognitive skills. For this reason, it is extremely important for the people who will provide child care to be educated in the field of child development, in terms of raising healthy generations both in cognitive, physiological and psychological terms. As the Young Activists team, we realized our online platform project to meet the needs of families for qualified caregivers with the students of the Faculty of Child Development, Preschool Teaching, Psychology and Education, who could not go to school or do their internships due to the pandemic. The students of the mentioned department take many qualified courses in the fields of child development and educational psychology during their undergraduate education. Therefore, they have the academic equipment to take care of children. In our project, we tried to bring together the childcare competencies of university students and the caregiver needs of families on a common platform. On the other hand, there are serious increases in unemployment rates after the Covid-19 epidemic. Thanks to our project, a serious awareness has been gained about the support of young people, who have difficulties in finding a job, to their families in the field of child care and creating a quality employment area. Our project addressed the problem of a wide audience. The main purpose of our project; The aim was to work with participants from different countries on a platform that will ensure that the caregiver needs of families who cannot send their children to school and who need a home caregiver are met by people trained in child development and care.
