Objectives

In particular, starting in 2015 and 2016, and continuing up to the present and increasing terrorist attacks in Turkey and Europe. Subsequently, during the summer and autumn of 2019 continued to increase in northern Syria and southeastern Turkey devastating terrorist attacks. They threatens the security and territorial integrity of our country and neighboring countries. In addition, our state of being in the ongoing conflicts in northern Syria. Also, the tension and conflict that started between Armenia and Azerbaijan in September 2020. Our society, which is affected by these processes in terms of socio-economic and life safety, has started to make us think. In these terrorist attacks, generally extreme and radicalized youth are used as puppets and threaten the security of countries. Governments, policy makers and young people are concerned with preventing the involvement of extremism, especially violent extremism. This is also a problem that society must intervene urgently. The Paris Declaration, published by the Council of the European Union in 2015, highlighted the rise of extremism in European society and expressed its commitment to human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and fundamental values, including respect for human rights. Along with the need for cooperation between the member and candidate countries of the EU, the role of education of young people was clearly emphasized: The importance of democratic values for children and young people, fundamental rights of citizens, social inclusion of young people and the importance of active citizenship in combating discrimination were remarked. In this direction, in line with the interviews we have made with our partners, the needs such as directing young people, especially those with extremism and radicalization tendencies, to youth activities and ensuring that they become engaged. This training course aims to increase participants' understanding in this field and to explore the role of youth work in response. The objectives of the training course: The objectives set to meet the above-mentioned need and achieve the goal: - To identify and understand the causes of extremism and radicalization, - To plan and implement activities within the framework of this understanding in joint youth organizations, - To understand the importance of dialogue on the concept of citizenship and to investigate identity problems; to find solutions to these problems, - To give youth workers the ability to identify young people at risk; equip them with educational tools that will respond to different levels of extremism and radicalization, - To help young people at risk of extremism and radicalization, using Erasmus+ opportunities to design non-formal education tools and activities and implement them in partner organizations, - To distance young people from extremism and radicalization in the target groups (locally and nationally) where the partners provide youth services. To gain social engagement.
