The migration of Syrian refugees to the city has changed the face of Hatay and brought problems with it. These problems arise in many areas. According to TUIK, Hatay is one of the 5 most unhappy cities in our country as of 2019. In the years when the data began to be announced, Hatay was among the top 10 happiest cities in our country. Unhappiness is a complex process and there are various factors affecting it. Among these factors, the leading ones are the regressions in areas such as employment, education, security and social life. Hatay is the 4th city hosting the highest number of refugees in Turkey, with 426,000 registered refugees. Hatay Provincial National Education. According to the data of the Directorate, the number of students continuing their education in the city is 56 thousand. This means that 1 out of every 4 children studying is a refugee. Although many opportunities were mobilized, this mass migration, which was caught unprepared, brought with it important problems in schools. The resulting conflict environment has become something that needs to be managed. Another problematic area is employment. According to the statistics announced by TUIK, one of the regions with the highest unemployment rate in Turkey is the TR63 region, where Hatay is located. As a result of refugees working for very low wages under socially insecure working conditions, many young people in Hatay are unemployed and in a difficult situation psychologically and economically. Young people who are looking for a job cannot find a job. On the other hand, crime rates have increased in our city, reaching the 13th rank in Turkey. Aside from the statistical dimension, unfortunately, as the outcome of this whole process, an atmosphere of insecurity and a loss of confidence in the living have occurred. Doors that were not locked in our childhood began to lock, and many conflicts and tensions began to occur over identity. This, in turn, has reduced people's communication with each other, has led to important problems such as their inability to express themselves, the deterioration of the atmosphere of social dialogue, and the increase in discrimination between different segments. According to a study conducted in Hatay (Donder, 2018), 70% of 47 families interviewed in Antakya stated that they felt more socially segregated and 63% more insecure. As it is known, Hatay has been a city of civilizations for centuries and has hosted different cultures and beliefs. It is a cultural mosaic that embraces 13 civilizations in its lands with its thousands of years of history, and that coexists all religions in peace. The antidote to the problems of social dialogue, tolerance and discrimination, which are making their impact felt day by day, is to underline this environment of peace and tolerance, where Hatay is strong and people recognize it as such, and to remind people of these values again. Based on the cliché but very true saying, “When goodness remains passive, evil becomes more daring”, the main purpose of our project was to contribute to the strengthening of this atmosphere of tolerance, trust and coexistence. While doing this, tangible and intangible cultural heritage items, which are the features that make Hatay Hatay, were used. However, the other sub-goals of our project were as follows; - Contributed to the strengthening of the culture of living together and respect - Concrete practices have been put forward on how tangible and intangible cultural elements will be used in building inclusive communities. - Fighting discrimination, radicalization and intolerance have been prevented through intercultural learning - A role model and message of peace was given from Hatay to the whole country and partner countries -Contributed to the recognition and widespread use of non-formal learning tools by the participants - Mutual understanding, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity among young people from different countries are promoted - Hatay's tools such as the Choir of Civilizations, the meeting point of 3 monotheistic religions, and its gastronomic heritage, so our city and country were introduced in the best way. - Increased awareness of 37 participants from 4 countries about other countries and cultures
