Objectives

The project “Bridgedale 2“ exploited the results of a strategic partnership “Youth-led Societal Innovation for Resilience” (YlSIR) that mostly young youth workers have been involved in 2015-2016 producing the online course Bridgedale360.org.
The purpose of Bridgedale360 is to inspire and empower youth to become active citizens for a sustainable future. It is solution-oriented & addresses all 4 dimensions in an interconnected way. It includes elements of mental learning, experiential activities & exercises. The partners perceived a strong interest in many young people towards sustainability issues and wanted to be better prepared to meet this demand. The project picked up the objective of the European Youth Strategy to empower young people to actively participate in society, through equipping youth workers with adequate tools to engage youth in the exploration of sustainability. We promoted values including: seeing diversity as an asset rather than a problem; solidarity; respect and raised awareness of cultural differences, fostering social inclusion.

The Bridgedale360 online tool encourages young people to become engaged in societal transformation, becoming change agents actively participating in society. It also advocates lifestyle choices promoting health and wellbeing on the physical, emotional and mental level. It also raises awareness of the global nature of the above mentioned environmental, social and economic crises. It breaks down these global issues into practical solutions influencing every-day lifestyle choices every young person can make to counteract climate change and green our countries. Finally it supports the development of creativity and innovation in young people through content in the social sustainability module.

In this training course we wanted to train youth workers to understand and use the tool, so they can go back to their work with young people and utilise the full recource of 16 models and over 80 activities.

The main objectives of the project were to:
 - EQUIP YOUTH WORKER WITH ADEQUATE TOOLS to engage youth in exploring ecological, social, economical and cultural sustainability as a means of personal development
 - IMPROVE QUALITY OF YOUTH WORK in education for sustainable development
 - RAISE AWARENESS of the EUROPEAN DIMENSION OF YOUTH WORK and the GLOBAL NATURE OF SUSTAINABILITY ISSUES
